Low Frequency - Jackin For Bass

Always Fresh

Great cover! Unfortunately it doesn't say who drew it. I also wonder why they are robbing the New Town store? Probably because they like the merchandise... or could it be a diss? I do know one thing; wish I had one of these items here:

So about the music. The cd starts with a bass test and an explanation on what bass actually is. This might be useful if this would be your first contact with a bass cd...

Then they go into straight jackin...

Not a bad cd at all. All songs produced and arranged by Roderick B. Whitehead, mixed and engineered by Jimmy Star. For some reason I think it could have been an Underwood release. But the only "problem" is that after some time it starts sounding like a breakbeats album, "rap your own" type.

Check out the whole album on youtube or dance your ass off right here!

DJ Droppin - Catastrophic Bass

14 Full Strength Tracks

I know it's not thursday but here's a throwback for you anyhow; DJ Droppin's debut on Bass Mekanik records! I was listening to this cd again today and I realised 2 things. 1st off all I realised how time flies. I remember this album being released like it was a few months ago, but actually the release date on Bass Mekanik's bandcamp says 22 march 2011! 2nd thing I realised (or should I say remembered) is that this album is a real CLASSIC! DJ Droppin together with Bassotronics became the first of a range of new artists being promoted by Bass Mekanik, in order to keep car audio bass alive.

"DJ DROPPIN is an alias of Rob Grimes, an Oregon based electronic music producer who is creating a new Bass style influenced by some of the classic sounds and creators of electro & bass, including BASS 305, TECHMASTER P.E.B., and BASS MEKANIK"

The sound on this album is very minimal, spacy at times, but musical enough to keep you interested during the full length of the songs, which can span up to almost 6 minutes.
Here's a good example of the minimalism:

Spacy!

More minimalism, pure woofer food!

Yep, if you remember this album, just play it again will you? And if you don't remember or never knew it, it's your lucky day because you just got to know some great music...

GO TO BANDCAMP! SUPPORT THE ARTIST!

(Yes, a little confusing. The artwork on the cd is the same as DJ Droppin's second release "Droppin beats")

Bass Transmission - Ultimate Bass Experience

Not a DM Records release

Because that's what it looks like, but it's actually a Pandisc album written, produced and engineered by Robert Bartko & Ivan Kopas. Mastererd at Fullersound. The reason why it looks like a DM release is because the cover design was done by Deryck Ragoonanan of ImagEpress Corp., Miami, Florida. Now this is a style of bass music that I really like. There's enough bass for the woofers but it's also very musical. Perfect to listen to in the car...

This is my favorite track. Check out how the bass comes in at 8 seconds in...

More goodness...

I don't know man, I can post them all. Listen to the fast scratching at :56...

Well, they're all on YouTube so go overthere if you want to listen to more. Because there is one thing we will never have! And that is a:

Cover Wars Part 7 - Bass Waves vs Bass Hit

Both albums were released in 1996 and have 12 tracks... but that's were the similarities stop... Bass Waves' "Liquid bass (Ambient capsule one)" is a Pandisc release, while Bass Hit's "Sub shaker" is a Neurodisc release...

Bass Waves' "Liquid bass (Ambient capsule one)" has a downtempo, ambient sound, while Bass Hit's "Sub shaker" goes all out...

Bass Waves' "Liquid bass (Ambient capsule one)" has artwork done by Cristina Di Lucia, ambient sound, while Bass Hit's "Sub shaker" has artwork done by Gerard Delaney and Lauren Martinez for AdImpact Inc...

Who will win? Bass Waves?

Or Bass Hit????

NO GOOD & JIGGIE OFCOURSE!!!!!!!!!!!
