La Compilation Mega Bass 5 - Special Mur Du Son

I owed you guys this last part of "La Compilation Mega Bass". So as you can see this is number 5. I do agree that there are a lot of funky tracks on it. Sounds like I am listening to the Disco Bass album at times! 

 

 

 

And just like Volume 4 this one also had a German release; "Die Kompilation Mega Bass 2". Unlike what they did with 4, they kept the color scheme this time:

Only one track is really not funky actually, track 1. I don't know why but it gave me this "Bass Madness" vibe. Check it out...

 

 

 

 

La Compilation Mega Bass 4 - Kill The Bass!

TECHNO - TWO STEPS - HIP HOP

 

Hi guys I'm back with another Bass Tuning release; Volume 4. And now it gets rather interesting, from a collector's point of view ofcourse. You see, this CD was also released in Gemany, so it became "die Kompilation" instead of "la compilation" (pic 1). In France they were already at part 4 but the German release is the first one there (pic 2). What makes it even more confusing is that the color scheme they used for the first German release is that of the first French release (pics 3 & 4) but the tracks are actually that of the 4th one (pic 5). Are you still following? Take a look at the pics:

 

 

So now about those tracks. We have Labo 54, Tuner 93, MC Fou and DJ's Porn.

Labo 54 takes care of the bass tests, listen to "Subbass Test"

I guess it wasn't such a bad idea of the Germans to start with this one. I like all the Labo 54 and Tuner 93 tracks. The only music I don't dig is DJ's Porn.

La Compilation Mega Bass 3

 House - Techno - Jungle

 

It's been a while since I posted one from the Bass Tuning series. It's a good moment anyhow to post a French release, with all this Japanese stuff around here recently. First thing I'd like to mention though is that my scanner couldn't really capture the beautiful color of this cd. Look at the difference with this pic:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Much nicer right? Don't tell me you wouldn't pick this one up if you saw it on the shelves?? 

The music; some stuff that has a UK, 2 step vibe like this one (the "Jungle" on the cover?)

 

 

 

This one must be the "House". Some of that retro disco that was popular around the Y2K.

 

 

 

Techno?

 

 

 

There are 10 tracks on this release. They are not all by "Super" but those were the ones that caught my attention.

Techno - House - Euro Dance

Back with volume 2. Like I said before, it's just the colorful covers that attracted me to this series, because muscically this one has wayyyyy too much hardstyle bass on it. Not my cup of coffee. You can listen to the album on my Youtube channel HERE. 

But as it has always been, it takes a lot of weeding out to find good music and the last 2 tracks from "Tuner 93" are not bad at all though! 

"Warm Drum" has a dubby UK breakbeat sound to it:



And "Warning" could almost be on Bass Mekanik's Jazz album.




MIND IT! I said "almost"!

La Compilation Mega Bass

HOUSE - TECHNO - DUB

Now this is not Techmaster or Bass Mekanik material, but I was attracted by the cover ofcourse and what I also like is that it is a French CD. Great to see that they even released bass CD's in France! As the cover states, expect house, techno and hardstyle (there is only one "dub" track).

The first track starts with a bass test and a house track with a typic French sound:


Not that bad, not that bad...  but what I REALLY DON'T like is hardstyle!! Like track 3:


No no no! Not my cup of tea!

Track 9 is the best on this release IMO. Bassy breakbeats...
