Bass Quake

Reprint

Some time ago I bought this Neurodisc release in an effort to complete my collection but when it arrived I was a little disappointed. OK, "normal" people would not be because it arrived in great condition and all but upon closer look I realised it was a reprint, from the time Neurodisc was distributed by Priority Records. So you gotta look for the CD-31003 (3rd album release on the label) and not the P2-50614 (clearly a Priority Records number).

I thought I'd let you know, so you don't get fooled when you're buying online...

The Priority cover is a single paper while the original one is double:

  • Neurodisc:

  • Priority

Back cover difference:

  • Priority

  • Neurodisc

And the cd's; Neurodisc and Priority

But the music is the same on both releases

Bass Quake - Bass After Shock

Frequencies galore

A good Neurodisc release with an even better cover by Luis Garcia for Luroga Design Florida! This release really distinguishes itself from the other Neurodisc releases because of the artwork. If you didn't know already, Luis Garcia is the man who did a great amount of covers for Joey Boy releases.

Let me now show you why I call this "frequencies galore"... check this out:

Can you feel it? Or this one:

One more:

Good ain't it? I really like the lettering Luis Garcia did here!

That will be all for now...

Official U.S.A.C. Bass

14

"Here are 14 tried and true prime cuts of bass compiled by the Dominator and brought to you by the kind cooperation of U.S.A.C. and the leading record labels of the bass world."

Yes this is another U.S.A.C. bass cd released by Pandisc. Matter of fact I should have said this in my previous post because this is actually the first Pandisc "U.S.A.C. Bass" cd, released before "SPL Shootout". "The leading record labels of the bass world" seem to be Pandisc, Hip Rock and Neurodisc:

I'm sure all these tracks can be found on YouTube, otherwise...

Unlike the shootout cd, this one has no test section and the design is done by Christina Dilucia.

"Thanx to Ralph Randall (USAC), Bo at Pandisc, Derrick at Hip Rock, Tom, John, Jamie and Debbie at Neurodisc, and all the artists who helped make this possible. Also many thanks to the 12 volt industry and bass fans everywhere for keeping the boom alive."

Oh don't worry about it, it has been a pleasure...

BASS野郎 - Hard Core 2

Not sure if Tari's still having fun!

Just as Bass 野郎 was the Japanese release for Neurodisc 's Bass Shock - Dungeon of Bass, Bass 野郎 2 is the same as Neurodisc 's Bass Shock II - Bass torture.

Bass Hardcore 2:

Bass Shock II

SAME TRACKS! With classics like Bass Obsession

Fantastic Galactic

and Getup & Jam!

Good CD, but I actually don't think this IS Tari! On the Bass Shock II cover she has blonde hair (as photographed by Al Freddy), but on the Bass Hard Core 2 cover it's black.Prolly Japanese Tari...

I guess the Japanes designer wanted to take a different route than Gerard Delaney & Sergio Pinon from AdImpact Inc.

I will leave you now with GHIA!

BASS野郎 - Hard Core

Tari's having fun!

I say Tari because I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be the girl from Bass Shock's "Dungeon of Bass" cover; blond hair and same "clothes", but most of all the music on this Japanese release (in the Bass Yarou series I think) is exactly the same as on the original Neurodisc release. Peep the tracklistings:

Bass Hardcore:

Original Neurodisc release

As you can see this is another cool Japanese release. I really like the way they didn't just create a totally different cover but they continued to work on the original. Prime example of why I started this blog. Since it's a cartoon the artist (unfortunately I can't read Japanese so I don't know who he is) took the opportunity to let his imagination run free and make her a little more voluptuous I see. Also she doesn't appear to be in the dungeon itself but in some type of booming car. Maybe the dungeon's speaker was blown?? Have fun Tari and enjoy the music...

BASS野郎 夏

The Woman With A Firecracker In Her Ass

Come on be honest; doesn't it look like that at first sight?? And you know what's even more funny? YouTube removed the thumbnails of this release. They didn't remove the videos themselves, but they changed the thumbnails! So if you go to my YouTube channel you will see this instead of firecracker woman. LOL

So just what is this CD all about. After running the liner notes through an OCR and translator I seem to understand that this is a "Summer Bass" album featuring bass remakes of certain "classic" summer hits!

"In order to make the bass music soku more popular, the BASS bastard series is indispensable not only for day and night power stam car kids but also for dance music fans. With innovative planning power, song selection, and a visual that is full of originality, I'm sure that I have a grudge against the scene as a unique series. In November, "Bass Christmas 1 was released. In other words, the base of the Christmas song] Version. This recorded a big hit again. Natsu: It's true that when we decided to release the series, we received a lot of request strikes from Blind Juan. From the classic songs that come over every year in the summer, to the nostalgic songs 3 Masa songs, and even the latest hit songs, a base album loved by men and women of all ages has been completed here, so I wanted it even for the Lord. Yo, such a summer base album. Let's take a quick look at the songs. First, the second song belief. '98 -Recording the worldwide blockbuster of the month of departure! 1 The number of the shale you know. The third song is Hikaru Utada's blockbuster song, which now requires no explanation. This is the number one featured song of this work. The 7th song is a blockbuster song of Inner Circle, a super groove in the reggae I world. The B song is a song by Misha, an RGB singer who represents Japan; the 10th song is a masterpiece of that Beastie Poise that is nostalgic for my father. But, ‘Many people know it, so it ’s the 11th song, Diana King ’s success story. I also did a hot topic in a duet with Nahki. The 13th song is Seiko Matsuda's big hit song, which is really controversial for people in their 30s. People in their 10s and early 20s may not know it, but Seiko-chan is famous for that wide show. The 14th song, summer is probably this group, I released a record this summer, but it's a tube. The 18th song is a speed song. E Recently, I'm looking forward to doing my personal activities in a rage. The 17th song is a Kinki Kids song that became an image song for a certain airline Okinawa campaign. How about this gorgeous line number. Only BASS guys can do this. In addition, how was "BASS bastard summer" with 8 songs of Su J Kunish Regekou / Rab and 1 song of Bass Inst? R) I think there are many powers to talk about love with 8GM this year. BASS bastard is planning to release various projects from now on, and I want you to make such a BASS bastard. " Then, the notice of the next work. Finally, in the long-awaited "BASS bastard rochi or vest", Katsutoshi "BASS bastard rochi power 3J, 5 people are selected as the culmination of the popular food ruseries, and this is the annual soul battle. It's not the best, it's the best of girls. Expectations for begging. August 1999 Toru Ikedo"

There are 19 tracks on this Bad News Records CD. 8 Are in the reggaeton/Latin bass vibe, not a hot selection. And the other 11  are the "summer bass" tracks. Actually they also kinda suck :(

Cher again??

BUT! As you can see from the title, what is very interesting about this release is that these tracks are produced by db Bass Killaz! Now the Cher remix sounds nothing like the acid breaks that we know from them, so you would doubt they are the same as the Neurodisc Bass Killaz. But when you listen to "Never gonna cry" for instance, I really think you can recognize the Neurodisc sound! Take a listen:

That was a nice surprise right? Maybe these tracks were made before they did the 2 albums?

Anyhow, here's another one for your listening pleasure and there is more on my Channel!

Felix The Cat - Mixed By DJ Ameken

 Not your average bass cover...

But the music is!! One would not expect, but there is some Newtown, some Neurodisc and a little bit of DM. I was hoping it would have been really "mixed" like the title said, but it's not actually like that. It's more a "cut and paste" compilation. That was rather disappointing.

CHECK IT OUT ON MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL

The interesting part of this CD are the tracks by "Scorpio". No clue who is behind it, maybe DJ Ameken himself? But they are not that bad at all:

What is also very interesting is that in the tray we receive free drawing lessons. I have always wanted to draw Felix but could never figure out how to do it!  Thank you DJ Ameken and Bad News Records (y)

Have some more Scorpio

BASS 野郎

 YOU TRY IT!

Today I bring you a really cool CD, or better yet a 3 CD! This might well be the rarest find in my collection. What we have here is a 3 CD box released in Taiwan in 1996 by the Mingjing Studio (明鏡影音館). Check it out, came is a cardboard slide case

There is no Taiwanese bass music on the CD's though but a slur of classics from Neurodisc, Newton, IBP, Pandisc, you know, "the regulars". What makes it interesting is that it's not just a compilation but the tracks come "by way of Japan" so to say. Let me explain; the cover was clearly taken from/inspired by the "Bass Ya Low - Erotica" (Bass野郎 エロチカ) series. See the comparison with Volume 1, clearly the pic from the inside:

So at first I thought the 3 CD's were "Erotica" Vol 1, 2 and 3. I even prepared this picture lol:

But it turned out to be more complicated that that. Disc 1 starts out like Erotica 2 and ends with the tracks from Erotica 1. Disc 3 shows 15 tracks on the cover but in reality only has 12, some "Erotica" and disc 2 has a bunch of stuff I don't even know what it is. Even a few Debonaire tracks in "Erotica" style that I couldn't find on the series. I just gave up trying to figure it out and enjoyed the music. Isn't that the whole idea anyhow?

I will be honest, very pleased with this find!

Ultimate Bass Challenge Vol 1

Bass Hit vs Bass Connection

The title speaks for itself. Bass Hit and Bass Connection battle it out on this Neurodisc release. Artwork was handled by clearh2ostudios

YOU decide who wins!
