Mega Jon Bass AKA DJ Iceman J is back with another score to settle! He already handled a bunch of our bass heroes that he wasnt so fond of with the release of Boomsday in 2020. But now it seems somebody pissed him off again... The album title and album cover make it very clear that Mega Jon is out for heads! 

Expect nothing but hardcore bass battle tracks, mad samples and ginsu style scratching by DJ Nino Leal!

We havent witnessed this kind of fierce competition since the DJ Fury VS DJ Magic Mike days. Or MC Madness VS DJ Magic Mike. Remember this album cover?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now altough Magic Mike's head also appears to be on a stick, the main fall guys on this album are Debonaire ("Debo-rah-naire"), Maggotron and a new bass producer called Gucci Bass ("Coochie Bass, the bass artist with a coochie face"). The Boomsday II album was released on 808 day 8-8-2022, 4 days after the release of Debonaire's "Bad Ass" album and a Debonaire and Maggotron run facebook campaign stating they would "flush the big toilet" being Mega Jon (read john as in toilet) Bass.

"Miami Bass Bully" meticulously takes care of Debonaire and Maggotron, "Bass Arena" takes out Gucci Bass and "Bass Headhunter" the rest of them. Looking at the tracklist one expects to hear tracks from "DJ Drumn", "DJ Bobby", "DJ Woofer", "DJ Sam" and so on, who ever they might be...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But when I actually played the CD, I started hearing Mega Jon Bass, the Drop-Top DJs, Cyber Messiah, all completely different artists! So I checked the CD, maybe it was misplaced, but the CD matches the rest of the artwork. And it also has 14 tracks on it. What could be wrong?

 

 

 

Oh yeah, forgot to mention: this is a Brazilian bootleg. That explains it I guess. Change the artists names so you don't get hit with a lawsuit? LOL.

When I saw this DVD for sale on a Brazilian website I really had no idea what to expect!

DJ Fury? Bass Patrol? Mega Jon Bass? On DVD? I doubted that these guys would have videos that did not reach the internet yet, but you never know?! Or maybe it would be MP3's on DVD? A regular CD in a DVD case?  I hope by now you are becoming as curious as I was!!

Good thing for you is that you don't need to wait weeks for the mail to arrive! If you scroll a little further all will become clear...

 

 

That was Bass Patrol's  "Bass Vibrations". Did you see what they did there?? :D Tuning footage from YouTube. Here's another one; Planet Bass (known to us as Mega Jon Bass) with "Drop That Bottom":

  

All in all a fun item to have in the bass collection. A lot of time was put in this project. Printed CD, full color artwork, very nice. It also shows how big bass music was in Brazilian culture; other DVD's in the series are KC and The Sunshine Band, disco, love songs... Hardly do you find bass music in this kind of releases.

 

Mega Jon Bass - Annihilation

 This was supposed to be his last album

 

 

 

But luckily for us he has released two more by now. "Bass Flight 808" and "The Best Of Mega Jon Bass 3". This guy can't quit, he is way too creative!

Ofcourse I support anything that Mega Jon Bass puts out, but I made this post for 2 reasons;

1. The cover is EPIC, hands down.

2. I am seriously addicted to track #8, "The algorithm". Wow, the build up is awesome. We really hear a master at work!

What we have here is a Japanese compilation of 20 assorted bass tracks. The Christmas vibes were taken from the Dynamix II Christmas compilation. Credited here to Cosmic Conspiracy, I don't know whether the names were changed to protect the innocent or to avoid copyright claims...

Same thing with Mega Jon Bass, who is credited here ass Planet Bass, which is the name of the album this song was taken from.

BASS野郎・零. Another collection of Joey Boy Records music. As usual they added some ragga/reggaeton tracks, this time from "The Rasta Crew". Maybe they should have named these cd's "Joey Boy Yarou", since there's not only bass music on them.

Get a load of The Rasta Crew with track No 2; "Que se quiten 1"

Good? Also we have some songs from the "Cosmic Conspiracy" cd (which I featured OVERHERE), but this time the performing artist is credited by his real name; Scott Weiser.
