This is a Rip-It Records compilation featuring hits by 69 Boyz, 95 South, 24K and 10 K.A.N.S. There are also 2 other artists present, but before I get into that; I really keep wondering why the synthesis sign is behind 96? Isn't it supposed to be '96 instead of 96' ? Post a comment if you have an explanation for this.

So who are the other artist on this compilation? We have Flip Flop, produced by the Bass Mechanix:

This is the Japanese "GOLD" edition. Another "All Time Favorites" release, not sure if it was in the "Bass In Your Face Series" though...

Bass Construction?

Ofcourse we all now Albert Cabrera, the One Rascal from the Latin Rascals, knows how to work his beats. And we have seen many times that he knows how to drop the bass! The Bass Construction cd (with artwork design by Lonnie Lopez & Ric Garcia, and released on Thump Records) has a lot of breakbeat heavy tracks on it! The pace really picks up as from track 7: Smerphies dance...




and you might go into a breakdance frenzy with trakcs 8 and 9...

Recone Kit?

The faceless Italian Debonaire gives us more loop theft and speaker damage on this release! With 15 tracks this cd (with cover design and graphics by Coral Reef Design) is actually NO joke, because Debonaire is armed with a sampler and dangerous...
 




and the bass he creates is so wicked,
 




you will be left with busted out woofers...
 




and some assembly will be required.





Hence the Recone Kit!

A One Rascal production

 
I had seen this cd online many times and I just knew it was not gonna be the best out there. But what I did NOT know was that it is produced by the One Rascal Albert Cabrera! You know, the producer and edit king who already gave us a bass album on this blog, namely "The Bass Project" on Pandisc.
What I also didn't know is that one of the rappers on this album is Won-Tu, better known as Hanson from Hanson & Davis. The duo that made this club classic:





The rap tracks are for sure not the headlines on this release. Here's Won-Tu with "Kiss the puppet"





And the other rapper, Celo, with "Rhythm, rocks, stop"





The instrumental tracks are rather bumping though...

Tracks for the connoisseur

DANCE - TECHNO - HOUSE - ACID - TRANCE

That's the type of music you can hear on this cd. You know why? I'll tell you why; because it's produced by "One Rascal" Albert Cabrera! I'm not sure about "techno", "acid" & "trance", but you do get house, dance & breaks from the man; some even have a Todd Terry feel imo...






Can't say I've been following Albert Cabrera's career but I am a big fan of his work as part of The Latin Rascals! Remember "Lisa's coming"?? Beats mayhem!!





Really cool that he did a CD for Pandisc! Funny though that track 9 and 12 are both named "Get on down"... he probably couldn't get enough of the beat (and later on you will find out there is even a part 3).







And we should not forget about the artwork ofcourse. Recognize the speaker? Ofcourse  you do; it's the speaker Deryck Ragoonanan from ImagExpress always uses for his covers! So why shouldn't he use it for this one?

You know who also likes this CD a lot? Bassotronics! He likes this album so much, he took some of the tracks, remixed them and made it into a Vol. 02. Take a look and listen:

Oh yeah, I almost forgot! The Bass Project album was also released on gatefold 2 LP. Unfortunately without artwork but cool none the less because the only other Miami bass gatefold sleeve I know of is another Pandisc release: Clay D's "Out the can"...
