DJ Laz - King Of Bass

 Miami Bass Sound

Yet anoter one of those covers that look familiar but there is something off. In this case I would say it is this:

This is DJ Laz's "The King Of Bass" album released by CID from Brazil. All 12 tracks are the same as on the original Pandisc release, so if you're not in Brazil the only reason why you would search for it is because you are an addicted collector like me...

Search for the Brazilian release I mean because if you don't know this album you should definately look it up. I has some classics like the Reckless remake and Let Your Body Rock (+ 10 more)

Quad Zone

The cars! The girls! The bass!

Many moons ago I saw an add for this video cassette in the 1997 Pandisc catalog, which I received back then from a friend of mine.

Now it took me quite some time to find a copy, but good things come to those that wait, and I finally copped one!

So now I am pleased to share it with my loyal followers. Relax, sit back, and enjoy 55 minutes of bass music, girls in bikini and customized cars:

QUAD ZONE

I hope you enjoyed that ride through the once wonderfull world of Pandisc. Check out some more artwork from Gerard Delaney for ADimpact!

And a few schreenshots from the QuadZone website in 1998

DJ Laz - Journey Into Bass

808 Kick drum

There's enough of that on this 1993 Pandisc release. But not only 808, DJ Laz really made a very versa(s)tile album here. We start of with the megaclassic bass jam "Journey into bass"...

Then we get some of that Latin swing Laz is known for...

A little something for the booming system in the ride...

A likkle bit a rub-a-dub hip hop stylee...

The quiet storm for if you ears would be ringing by now...

"Shaggy meets Splack Pack"...

Booty bass...

A DJ track...

And in 1993 one could not forget about the ravers!

See what I mean? VERSA(S)TILE!

Oh yeah, and the artwork was designed by AdImpact, Inc., Plantation, FL with Photography by Jill Kahn and the photo of Earth courtesy of NASA (?!)

Damn, almost forgot about the club!!!!

D.J. Laz - Bass XXX

Vol. I

I know I'm not about to tell you anything new but D.J. Laz is really a pro at making beats! There's not a lot of tracks on this cd (only 9) but they are all Miami bass as hell! Just take a listen to this one, with mad scratching from Exotic E!

That was his idea anyhow; make us experience "the true meaning of bass"...

Don't know where the XXX comes from really... from those 4 "XXX girls" snippets? Guess it's always a good theme in terms of sales anyhow... Now i've also seen an edited version on eBay.

But I haven't heard it yet so I don't know the difference. "XXX Girls" has been chagned to "Bass girls"...

Back cover for "Bass XXX" regular version:

Back cover for "Bass XXX" edited version:

And to top it off, I've also seen an "explicit" version. Seems to be "XXX Bass" instead of "Bass XXX". Hmmm....

and Vol. II

More heat in the same style!

Haven't seen any edited or explicit version for this one (yet) although the XXX girls are present on this CD again...

I will leave you people with another pic of XXX girl Julie Yonan, photographed by Dennis Bolanños

and one of the XXX girls from Vol.1, which is either Nicole, Cream or Passion. Photographed by Jose Gonzalez at Speaker Warehouse Florida

And one day I will return with DJ Laz' XXX Breaks...

UPDATE 23/04/2014

OK, so I managed to buy the "x-rated" XXX Brakes cd and wanted to share some pictures with you my loyal readers...

and also the 2 "XXX Girls" snippets that were removed for the later releases!

dB Jams Volume 5

The official dB Drag Racing competition disc

"In a nutshell, dB Drag Racing is a contest where competitors compete against one another in an effort to see who has the loudest car stereo system. Our rules are simple and the judging format is objective. What sets dB Drag Racing apart from other SPL based contests is our head-to-head bracket style elimination format. For the first time ever, a sound-off competition is actually fun to watch; This is one of the primary factors behind dB Drag Racing's skyrocketing popularity."

So know you know...

This is a Pandisc release you don't see very often. As usual on these dB Jams cd's there are not to many music tracks. Here we get 7 of  'em, the rest are test tracks...

But the good thing is, out of those 7 tracks, 2 are exclusive to this cd only (as far as I know). They are a medley from DJ Laz's "XXX Breaks" release, and a medley from the Badd Ass Sound System. Check out the Miami Bass History Youtube channel:

Also, if you're into Sweeps, Sine Waves and Pink Noise, then I advice you to take a look overhere.

Bass Patrol! Vol. 19

Boom boom & go go bass!

I would like to thank my friend Baxim for getting my hands on this one! Another rare volume in the Bass Patrol! series...

Here we have a "booty side" and a "bounce side". As expected the booty side is a little better in my opinion, but that's a matter of taste ofcourse...

Let's see.

On the "booty side" for instance, we have Verb with "Shake it down":

and on the "bounce side" we have Creep Dog with "Nigga what":

And? Another one? OK!

"booty side" DJ Laz feat. Kinsu with "Let them hoes fight":

"bounce side", Mac'n Lomax with "Why?":

Decided? Not yet? This one will persuade you! From the "booty side"Crazy L'Eggs with "South side ride":

Was I right or what??? If you wanna hear some more tracks go to my YouTube channel right  HERE

Oh yeah, I wonder what this is about:

About the Pokemon bass probably....

Crusin' bass

The Best Of Miami Bass Volume 1

Compiled by Food For Woofers

All tracks licensed from: Pan Disc Music Corp. Miami USA and

so just call it "The Best Of Pandisc Bass".

Track 3) In the mix

Who do we have on this cd? The Beat Dominator, Mr Bassman, DJ Laz, DXJ and Danny D. Enough food for 14 great tracks! (That's right, 14. The tracklist shows 15 but they are not all on the cd. I couldn't find the last song; Return to the bass that ate Miami).

Track 9) Boom I got yo' bass

Maybe they had it on the original Food For Woofers release, but I don't have that one (yet ^^).

As you can see it's the same release but with a different color than the one distributed by Quality Centers (more details HERE).

Track 12) Bass it to the max

If you want to hear some more take a look overHERE.

OK that's it, goodbye for now...
