Hyper Bass - Club Traxx

 Geheimtips der Dance- und House-Szene!

Those are what you get with this United Sound CD from Germany! The secrets to the dance and house scene for your car!

"Club Traxx mit knalharten Beats, jeder Menge Kick-Bass und extrem tiefe Sub-Frequenzen sorgen für maximale Auslastung jeder guten Car-Hifi_Anlage. Mit diesem Album haben Sie dei Geheimtips der Dance- und House-Szene in Ihrem Auto. "Hyper Bass" versetzt Sie und Ihren Subwoofer mächtig in Schwingung."

It IS all clubmusic yes. Normally not my type of hype but to my own surprise I really like this one. Do you know DJ Billy E's "Bass transformed"? Not saying "Hyper Bass" is as good, but "Bass Transformed" kept coming to mind when listening to this one. The 2 albums would really "mix well" IMO!

What do you think? Check it out on the Tube!

Bass Cronic - Kronik Bass

Feel The Music

That is exactly what you will as soon as you pop in this disc! Being on Thump Records, the first track has a vibe that you would expect from this cd; a smooth g-funk/bass hybrid.

But when you get to the second track you already start realising this is not just another g-funk vehicle! There is a master at work...

And it just keeps getting better. This release is much better than the other Thump Records release Bass Construction, which was produced by Albert Cabrera. So who was behind this CD, who is Cronic Bass??

It was when I got to track 5 that I realised! Listen:

Did you hear that? That track could have come straight from Nightmare on Bass Street or Toxic Bass. This HAS to be DJ Billy E's work!

And yes it is! He confirmed this on facebook. Definately a CD you should try and get. You can also listen to the album on YouTube by clicking THIS LINK. ENJOY!

Bassman - Bass 2 Tha Old School Volume 2

The wait is over!

I told you that I couldn't wait but luckily I did not have to wait long. The Bassman is back y'all!
And as you can tell from looking at the cover (with Illustration by Darren Shaw & graphic design from Daniel Lynch), Mr Bassman brought some friends; DJ Billy E, DJ Lace, Kevin Montgomery, 2BMF, Mellow J and DJ Sway-Z.

Check 'em out:

"Our second collection of Old School club anthems set to the Bass of the 90's. "Drop" these classic cutz in your car or home system, listen back, and enter the domain of Quad city, U.S.A. Whether your peepin "Computer Power" and "Jam On It" from Newcleus or the classic "Play At Your Own Risk", the Bassman has phattaned every track giving props to the Old School while lacing them wit the flava of BOOM!

Bassman - Bass 2 Tha Old School

A collection of classic cutz with the power of bass!

"This collection of old school themes have been playing in dance halls and car stereos for years and have finally been reproduced in a booming bass style. These club anthems bring the noise in an avalanche of beat and volume that will put sound systems to the ultimate test." (Dave Friedman)

Honestly I did not expect much from this CD because of the cover. Normally the cover art should do the opposite; attract you to the product and make you feel like listening, but for some reason I thought this would be some type of fake bass music.
My mistake!
I guess my mistake was not realising that "Bassman" was Mr Bassman Keith Rosenberg! Ofcourse it has to be booming then!
You know he drops bombs!

"In newly recorded, bassified versions, the old school now pumps and thumps like never before. From Shannon's "Let the music play" (a # 2 hit on Billboard's dance chart)..."

"to the classic techno foundation of Germany's Kraftwerk and their hit "Trans Europe Express", the best of old school is movin' from the dance floor to the street."

And there was more surprising news! It was not just Mr Bassman bassing. 2 Out of the 13 tracks were produced by none other than DJ Billy E! "Numbers" and "Music Non Stop"...

Yup, this whole album was a pleasant surprise. LISTEN here if you want more. Sorry Darren Shaw for underestimating your artwork. I can't wait for VOLUME 2!

Quad Zone

The cars! The girls! The bass!

Many moons ago I saw an add for this video cassette in the 1997 Pandisc catalog, which I received back then from a friend of mine.

Now it took me quite some time to find a copy, but good things come to those that wait, and I finally copped one!

So now I am pleased to share it with my loyal followers. Relax, sit back, and enjoy 55 minutes of bass music, girls in bikini and customized cars:

QUAD ZONE

I hope you enjoyed that ride through the once wonderfull world of Pandisc. Check out some more artwork from Gerard Delaney for ADimpact!

Bass 2000 - Mission 1

Elevator bass

That's how I always think of this kind of bass. Now I don't mean this in a negative way, because I play this style A LOT myself, especially when in my car. But there is something about it, I don't know, you can play the songs a hundred times and it's like you can just keep playing them. Not because they are SO great, but because you also don't really get tired of them, just like elevator music, but with a lot of bass added! It just keeps playing while your mind is busy with other things...

Hear what I mean? Easy listening...

Sometimes a little more uptempo ofcourse...

So tracks 1 thru 12 are written, produced, arranged and orchestrated by Robert Bartko and Ivan Kopas under a variety of aliases like Bass Enigma, Bass Unlimited, Bass Addiction, Bass Factory 808, Bass Transmission and Bass Apocalypse.

The remaining 4 tracks are bonus remixes like Bass Mekanik's "Feel the music" competition mix and Bass Trip's "Ozone" trip hop bass mix...

And the artwork? Hahaaa... do you see it?? Ofcourse: Deryck Ragoonan for ImagExpress, Miami, Fl.!

DJ Billy E - Baddest Bass Beats

"Just dropped this compilation of some of the baddest beats I have produced for Bass Mekanik"

And that is all Billy E posted on facebook. A small post on his page, and that was it. Maaan, this guy is just too humble! Have you heard "Beatz a rok'n"? "Six blok bass"? "Bass bad bwoy"? "Ghetto blasta"? You did? Well then you know I'm not bullshitting when I tell you these are monster bass jamz! You didn't? Then you really missed out on some of the dopest bass joints ever created! But that's were this compilation comes in handy, because now you can catch up and get these in your ride!

The iThing, Amazon, beatport, whichever site you prefer. More than enough choices.

In the meantime listen to the preview brought by our good friends over at KKBox Taiwan...

Official USACi Outlaw SPL / Street Beat CD

BRING IT!

This is one of the other USACI cd's I was talking about in my other post. While that one featured music from the ever booming IBP label, this one was made possible thanks to Bass Mekanik! Only 5 music tracks here... The tracklist says number 15 is a suprise but it's actually number 14 that is "????", because 15 is "Drop with it". "????" is DJ Billy E's "Break it down" from Nightmare on Bass Street Part 1.

Tracks 2 till 10 are test tracks but with a beat added. A beat that REALLY sounds like something DJ Billy E would come up with. All tracks have the same beat but with different frequencies added. Here's the intro and track 2; the 110hz, 165hz, 88hz test...

I don't think you want to hear the "Zero data test"...?

BASSic Disturbance - 2LD4U

SPL Competition Disc

Very cool bass CD released by USACi of Texas. 80 Tracks in total! OK, there are only 13 music tracks ofcourse and 55 sign waves (26 HZ to 80 HZ). We also get pink noise, sweeps, 'in' and 'out of' phase, a stage test and last but not least: digital silence! But concerning the music tracks; what do you think? Pandisc? Bass Mekanik? No, not this time! It's IBP time! 11 Classics from Debonaire 's IBP releases (Circuit Breaker, Bass Fraternity, The Bassorcist, Recone Kit and Professor Hum Drum), 1 from DJ Billy E's "Nightmare on bass street" and "Bass boom bottom" from Power Supply's album with the same title (Not an IBP release!). Confusing? Just take a look at the inlay, that'll clear things up...

USACi intro

and some Digital silence! Oh yeah!

To schedule an event feel free to contact USACi of Texas thru https://www.facebook.com/USACiofTEXAS. This CD was made in participation with Heat Wave Inc, RE Audio, Mystic Entertainment and M5DESIGNS. I have some more USACiofTEXAS CD's so stay tuned...

World Bass Federation - Get Ready To Rumble!

X-treme 12 voltage

Who will be battling in the WBF:

BOMBER VF1

vs

BAZOOK VR3

They will be battling during 15 tracks produced by the World Bass Federation, D-Love, D-Bass and last but not least DJ Billy E! Never heard of the first 3 and I wouldn't be surprised if they are just aliases (for Billy E maybe?).

I predict one of the fighters will go down in either round  3 during the DJ Billy E produced Mr-Mixx-type-a-beat track "Ground loop":

In round 7 during the bass bomb "Axle Grind":

Or they will make it to the last round and the battle will be decided during "Take me up":

If you want to organize your own WBF battle hit "play all" and listen to the full album...

Bass Tribe - Jungle Bass

Dedicated to Boris Katunov - The one and only

The year was 1995 and Drum and Bass and jungle music was sweeping the nations... so the Miami guys had to join the party ofcourse. Bass Tribe consists of Neil "Beat Dominator" Case, Keith "Mr Bassman" Rosenberg & "the mighty but anonymous Bass Automator" (which is DJ Billy E)...

I'm sure you heard this song before?

For those who didn't get it yet...

Cover design was done by Gerard Delaney & Sergio Pinon of AdImpact, Inc.

Bass Mekanik - Bass Trap

Pump the power!

It's always an exciting time for us bassheads when the Bass Mekanik drops a new album!! This time he's going for the trap sound, but as a veteran bass producer there's no doubt about it he crosses all styles and just gives us another booming bass album!!

This is the title track which really goes for the trap sound ofcourse...

But this one right here is like the follow up to "I rock bass" and has more of a dubstep influence imo...

A crunk bomb...

And some of that real BASS only the Mekanik can drop...

In other words: just go to the tunes thing HERE or to bandcamp for the mp3 or lossless versions and GET IT, OK? You won't regret it, you have my guarantee...

I also heard from the Bass Mekanik himself that a highly limited cd edition will be released soon! Can't wait for that one. I will keep you posted as soon as I find out more!

UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE

The limited cd edition HAS been released. It was for sale at the Bass Mekanik booth at SBN 2014!

Hope you can find a way to get your hands on one just like I did!

Cover Wars Part 5 - Nightmare On Bass Street vs Nightmare On Bass Street

That would be

VS

So what's the difference? ... "Just another reissue" you might say... But it's not. The first cover is from the 1993 Innovative Bass Productions release (better known as IBP). This was the first cd to be released on that classic label and was composed by none other than DJ Billy E. It contains 9 VERY bass heavy tracks with titles that leave nothing to the imagination, like "Ultimate Bass Scare", "Burnt Voice Coils" and "Fifty Thousand Watts". Listen to the opening track "In Control":

You can still buy this cd from IBP themselves by clicking THIS link.

The second cover on the other hand belongs to a 2009 digital only Bass Mekanik Records release. It has the same title, was also produced by DJ Billy E, but this one has 11 tracks and is not just a reissue. The 11 tracks are compiled from all Billy E's IBP releases, being "Nightmare On Bass Street" 1 and 2, "Toxic Bass", "The Bass Is Out There" and "Bass Electronica". Interesting that they didn't mention those last 2 cd's in their promo text...

DJ BILLY E is one of Bass music’s original pioneers. Back in the early days of bass, before he actually became well known as DJ BILLY E, he released three very influential but now hard to find albums, NIGHTMARE ON BASS STREET 1 & 2 and TOXIC BASS. Now available for the first time in digital download format are the best of these three albums in a new 2 album release; NIGHTMARE ON BASS STREET PARTS 1 & 2. Make no mistake, this is pure old school Bass, raw and in your face, with no apologies and a must have for the true Bass fan. Key tracks are BREAK IT DOWN, NOW HEAR DIS and DRUMS & RHYTHM.

They did the same thing for "Nightmare On Bass Street II - He's back", which was originally released on the IBP label in 1994 (IBP0006) with 14 tracks.

And later released digital only on Bass Mekanik Records as a DJ Billy E compilation.

I don't think there are any winners here, since they are all booming, so I suggest you just get all of them...

Bass Mekanik - Faster Harder Louder

Car Sound

We all know this is a great cd already, right? Just listen to the title track alone if you're not convinced yet...

This album was released by Pandisc in 2002 as a special CD/DVD release. I think it was also released as a DVD box.

But what makes todays post so special is that I have the Korean release of this cd with me. That's right; Korean! Can you imagine? Licensed & released by MIXX Creative Corp. (www.mixx.co.kr) and distributed by DREAMBEAT. Talking bout taking bass music worldwide! Big up to the Bass Mekanik and DJ Billy E... This release didn't come with the DVD though, same tracks but only on cd.

Looks to have been released in cooperation with a tuning magazine:

How cool is that? I'll leave you with another dope jam: Blockbuster. DJ Billy E on the cut!

Keep your eyes on eBay if you want to get this CD for yourself, otherwise you can already go to iTunes and get your copy of FASTER HARDER LOUDER today!
