OK, I know it took me long enough but I finally found the first volume of the Bass野郎外伝 爆音ケンカ道 series; BNCY-40. I already had BNCY-53 and BNCY-64. This one is another good compilation. There are Joey Boy tracks, Newtown, Neurodisc, IBP, a little bit of everything. Good stuff.

Bass Christmas was about to be released next. Perfect timing. But then again, Christmas was a week ago already. How time flies! This was probably my last post of the year. Hopefully we can all have much more bass joy next year.

Today I bring you a really cool CD, or better yet a 3 CD! This might well be the rarest find in my collection. What we have here is a 3 CD box released in Taiwan in 1996 by the Mingjing Studio (明鏡影音館). Check it out, came is a cardboard slide case

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There is no Taiwanese bass music on the CD's though but a slur of classics from Neurodisc, Newton, IBP, Pandisc, you know, "the regulars". What makes it interesting is that it's not just a compilation but the tracks come "by way of Japan" so to say. Let me explain; the cover was clearly taken from/inspired by the "Bass Ya Low - Erotica" (Bass野郎 エロチカ) series. See the comparison with Volume 1, clearly the pic from the inside:

 

So at first I thought the 3 CD's were "Erotica" Vol 1, 2 and 3. I even prepared this picture lol:

 

But it turned out to be more complicated that that. Disc 1 starts out like Erotica 2 and ends with the tracks from Erotica 1. Disc 3 shows 15 tracks on the cover but in reality only has 12, some "Erotica" and disc 2 has a bunch of stuff I don't even know what it is. Even a few Debonaire tracks in "Erotica" style that I couldn't find on the series. I just gave up trying to figure it out and enjoyed the music. Isn't that the whole idea anyhow?

Just as Bass 野郎 was the Japanese release for Neurodisc 's Bass Shock - Dungeon of Bass, Bass 野郎 2 is the same as Neurodisc 's Bass Shock II - Bass torture.

Good CD, but I actually don't think this IS Tari! On the Bass Shock II cover she has blonde hair (as photographed by Al Freddy), but on the Bass Hard Core 2 cover it's black.Prolly Japanese Tari...

I guess the Japanes designer wanted to take a different route than Gerard Delaney & Sergio Pinon from AdImpact Inc.

Ultimate Bass Challenge

The bootleg!

Yes, I posted Ultimate Bass Challenge V1 before. But as I mentioned earlier, this is a Russian bootleg on Diamond Records, not Neurodisc. Maybe to make things easier we will call this release "Ultimate Bass Challange" (sic).

The tracklist is exactly the same, so no need to post the music again, but I do want to share the artwork with you all, which is seriously lacking in quality compared to the original. But hey! Isn't that how a bootleg is supposed to be??

Some time ago I bought this Neurodisc release in an effort to complete my collection but when it arrived I was a little disappointed. OK, "normal" people would not be because it arrived in great condition and all but upon closer look I realised it was a reprint, from the time Neurodisc was distributed by Priority Records. So you gotta look for the CD-31003 (3rd album release on the label) and not the P2-50614 (clearly a Priority Records number).

I thought I'd let you know, so you don't get fooled when you're buying online...

The Priority cover is a single paper while the original one is double:

Bass Yarou - Erotica

You try it!!

Try and make the cover uncensored! Doesn't look to hard imo, but I have to hand it to Hajime Kobayashi (you know, the Bad News Records art director and designer); he really got creative on this one.

So what we have here is the first volume in the Bass Yarou 'Erotica' series. Actually what we hear on this disc is the complete Bass Erotica release "Erotic bass delight", originally released on Neurodisc records...

and 3 added tracks with the kind of vocals Bass Yarou 'Erotica' would become known for. There are no extra vocals on the Bass Erotica tracks so I will only post the 3 added tracks. Enjoy!


 


Now it is time to meet the lovely ladies with the awesome vocal capabilities! I'm sure they made it very far in the, ...uhm, ..."business"?

Tari's having fun!

I say Tari because I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be the girl from Bass Shock's "Dungeon of Bass" cover; blond hair and same "clothes", but most of all the music on this Japanese release (in the Bass Yarou series I think) is exactly the same as on the original Neurodisc release. As you can see this is another cool Japanese release. I really like the way they didn't just create a totally different cover but they continued to work on the original. Prime example of why I started this blog. Since it's a cartoon the artist (unfortunately I can't read Japanese so I don't know who he is) took the opportunity to let his imagination run free and make her a little more voluptuous I see. Also she doesn't appear to be in the dungeon itself but in some type of booming car. Maybe the dungeon's speaker was blown?? Have fun Tari and enjoy the music...

Normally I was planning to use an even cooler cover to start the year, but for that originally planned post I needed a link to this cd cover, and it turned out I didn't post this cover yet, so in order for me to post the cooler cover I have to post this one first! Are you with me out there? I thought I already did post Bass Shock's  "Dungeon of Bass" (and I kinda did when I posted the Phillipine cassette release) but I didn't so here you have it; Bass Shock's "Dungeon of Bass".




 
Like all early Neurodisc releases the album is not bad at all, not bad at all. Lots of uptempo, ravy beats. All produced by Debbie Deneese & Jamie Swartz ofcourse.
